Residents length of stay can range from 3-9 months, or longer. They will often hit recovery milestones, or celebrate a birthday or anniversary in that time. We also have a group graduation on the last Thursday of the month.

This is an opportunity for individual groups of 10 or less to help our residents feel more at home during their stay at JI. Prepare your favorite dish and bring it in, OR use our restaurant style kitchen to prepare a home style dinner to serve to residents.

Volunteers pack groceries, receive food donations, stock shelves, sort food to maintain quality control and help maintain sanitary working conditions. You can also assist with clerical responsibilities such as typing and data entry, or organize and hold food drives.

We count on a core group of more than 70 volunteers who are involved in the daily operations of the Pantry. They work directly with clients, pick up food from local grocers and farms and deliver it to the Pantry, stock and organize shelves, and assist with the Mobile Pantry and Healthy Futures Market. We have a special event each year in early November and need many volunteers for a successful effort: Scouting for Food is our largest food drive. You can volunteer to help us process the donations that day.

We always appreciate volunteers who help stock shelves, prepare food packages, and assist those who visit the pantry.
