That’s where Rescuing Leftover Cuisine steps in. Our mission is to prevent consumable excess food from being wasted by redirecting it to feed people instead of landfills! Whether you are 9 or 99, on 2 feet or 4 wheels, solo or as a team, you can volunteer with RLC! An average Rescue Event averages 40 minutes to pick up surplus food or meals prepared for donation from businesses and deliver them to designated recipients using our Food Rescue Website. Food Donors include restaurants, hotels, schools, caterers and others. Recipients include shelters, soup kitchens and other human service agencies who serve people experiencing homelessness, hunger and food insecurity, and eligible households in partnership with local schools and organizations.
