About this event

During the month of January, The Mission Continues commits to serving in communities across America to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. < < Join the Greater Boston Platoon and Mission Partner Raytheon in supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank. Volunteers work in our warehouse, inspecting, sorting, and repacking donated food and grocery products. Upon arrival, our team will orient you to The Greater Boston Food Bank and its services, and then you will be trained for your project. < < Some volunteers load boxes onto conveyer belts, some inspect or sort products, and others check and label boxes. While a few of these tasks require the ability to lift a 30 pound box, most tasks require only that a volunteer stand and inspect products for a few hours. Please remember to wear closed-toed shoes for your shift (no sandals or flip flops). < < Your assistance is a crucial part of helping to end hunger and leave a #LegacyOfService! < < **Volunteers will need to register with the Greater Boston Food Bank as well: https://gbfb.secure.force.com/volunteer/VolunteerPortal_Registration_Individual?shift=a010W000 00xZKW9QAO < < Accessibility: this project is indoors and the building is accessible. Please reach out with any questions or requests so we can better accommodate you. Presented by Raytheon Technologies and AmeriCorps.
