About this event

Indivisible Acton-Area is sponsoring a fundraiser the week of Jan 18 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and to support the new administration and the orderly transfer of power!

Join to us to Fill The Fridge for our neighbors Canasta Solidaria in Framingham and Rice Sticks and Tea Asian Food Pantry in Boston.

Canasta Solidaria supports Hispanic and Brazilian immigrants in the Framingham area, while Rice Sticks and Tea assists Asian immigrants in Chinatown and other areas of Boston. These two organizations supply immigrant communities with fresh food and culturally appropriate groceries, an approach that facilitates needy families seeking food assistance. Immigrant communities have been particularly hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic as these workers have lost service jobs without benefits or unemployment insurance and have no sources of income.

We are asking for cash donations to help these two food pantries. We will match the first $500 in donations. We suggest donations in the $25-50 range (or more if you can afford it), but all donations will help and be gratefully accepted!

All donations made the week of Jan 18-24 will be applied to our Fill the Fridge fundraiser benefitting Canasta Solidaria and Rice Sticks and Tea.

As a special thank you, we offer you a combined live Zoom fitness class on Jan 24, 2-3:30p, led by professional instructors:

  • 2-2:45p: Yoga
  • 2:45-3:30p: Zumba

Take one or both, and enjoy! Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. A yoga mat or equivalent is suggested for the yoga portion.
