About this event

Since 2006, Boston Cares has organized A Day ON, Not a Day OFF projects for MLK Day that have collectively engaged nearly 7,000 individuals of all ages from Boston’s neighborhoods and surrounding communities. To continue our tradition of honoring Dr.King’s legacy through service in 2021, Boston Cares will host a Community Weekend of virtual opportunities focused on ways to serve and improve our community through educational opportunities, discussions about community issues, volunteer trainings, and remote service. Opportunities include:

Volunteer Trainings & Information Sessions: Join Boston Cares and our partners to learn more ways to engage year-round and access trainings to get started. Sessions include Boston Cares Volunteer Leader training, tutoring training, and information on volunteer efforts to support COVID-19 related food insecurity.

Remote Volunteering Projects: Download instructions or join us live on Zoom to hear from our community partners and receive guided instruction on letter writing, mask making, and more.

Conversations on race, equity, and community issues, facilitated by local experts. Access a self-guided discussion activity, or join for a live training on Allyship in Practice, or a conversation with the City of Boston on Diversity.

Sign up to receive a full list of available events running from Friday, January 15 through Monday, January 18, or visit www.bostoncares.org/mlkday for more specific information and registration links.
