About this event

Join the City of Boston’s Age Strong Commission to call 80,000 residents of Boston over 60 and check in to make sure all of our older residents have access to the food, medication and assistance they need during this time.

This is a 1-hour training that will go over the volunteer opportunity, basic information you should know (including a call script) and resources to make the calls. Our older residents need our support during this time and we appreciate all the assistance in connecting with residents all over the city of Boston.

Please note: all volunteers will be required to pass a Massachusetts CORI background check in order to participate in this opportunity. CORIs are required because seniors are a vulnerable population.

After completing this 1-hour training and passing the CORI check, you will be able to sign up for 2-hour shifts to call seniors! Volunteer shifts will take place during business hours 9AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday. Although not all seniors will answer, volunteers often report having wonderful conversations with seniors who are eager to connect with another person.
