Youth Enrichment Services (YES)
Ways to help | Parent VolunteersThe parent volunteer role creates an opportunity for guardians to actively engage in the YES community through volunteer work. Tasks are available on and off the snow and could include assisting with snack distribution and loading processes, monitoring behavior, encouraging youth on the snow, ski or snowboard with a class (learners welcome), assist coaches with behavior management, or at YES headquarters where volunteers can train for the shop role that best fits their strengths and skill set.Corporate & Group VolunteersVolunteering will raise your company profile within the local community, help build relationships within teams, and boost group morale. Volunteer opportunities are available for groups of up to ten people and can be customized to suit your corporation’s goals and preferences. Volunteers must be over 18 years old.Track & Field Volunteer CoachesYouth Enrichment Services (YES) hosts a year-round track & field and cross country program for youth of various ages. YES is currently seeking volunteer coaches who are dedicated and committed to developing and inspiring the passion and skills of the young athletes.Skill Development WorkshopsWorkshops are an opportunity to help our youth understand the value of various professional skills and how those skills are utilized in the working world.Mock Interview and Networking NightsHeld regularly throughout the year, these events give volunteers the opportunity to help students develop their interviewing and networking skills in a fun and supportive environment.Young Professionals CommitteeThe Young Professionals Committee at YES is a young professionals group dedicated to empowering urban youth in Boston through outdoor and enrichment programming. Members consist of motivated individuals in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who are willing to fundraise, promote, and raise awareness for YES’s mission. The committee provides young professionals in Boston the opportunity to network, volunteer, socialize, and give back.Job ShadowsJob shadows give students a firsthand look at the world of work. Students use these experiences to help discover passions, choose college majors, and create connections for future internship opportunities.Down Hill Ski and Snowboard CoachesSnow sport enthusiasts who want to teach urban youth how to ski or snowboard can volunteer to help on three or more trips or to teach the same group of skiers and snowboarders all winter long on four predetermined days.Activity CaptainsAdults with large group (45-55 people) leadership skills. Duties include supervising the pre and post-trip responsibilities at YES, acting as the YES liaison with ski patrol and mountain staff, problem solving and group management.Learn and Teach VolunteersBeginner skiers and snowboarders who want to role model for youth, support coaches with behavior management, boost young people’s confidence and learn the sport with the kids.Outdoor Adventure TripsOA trips provide an opportunity for volunteers to connect with youth on a personal level while participating in activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, rock-climbing, kayaking, biking, and more.Emergency Vehicle DriversAdults with clean driving records willing to drive a YES vehicle to and from mountain destinations in NH, VT, ME, and MA, act as the YES point person during medical emergencies and transport youth and adults as needed.Cross Country Ski VolunteersActive adults and positive role models who want to learn how to Cross Country Ski or assist in coaching. One day a week for 8 weeks, January to March |

About us | YES is a youth development organization that promotes healthy living through, affordable and accessible, outdoor experiential education. YES serves Boston youth and teens, offering challenging programs and physical activities that reward and motivate their members/students. YES is unique in taking kids out of their familiar urban environment and introducing them to both summer and winter outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking, rock climbing, and sailing. |
