| About us | Dr. Ricky Greenwald founded Child Trauma Institute (CTI) in 2002 in order to more effectively disseminate high quality training programs in trauma treatment. CTI became a Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation in 2005, and was granted federal non-profit (501c3) status as a charitable organization in 2006. The Trauma Institute (TI) name was added in 2008 to better convey the full scope of our activities, which apply to adults as well as children and teens. Dr. Greenwald's clinical practice and therapy retreat services were merged with TI/CTI in 2012 in anticipation of starting a trauma clinic in the Pioneer Valley. TI/CTI has provided training and/or conducted research in 16 countries, and is particularly active in training in the northeastern USA. Our treatment model is now supported by three published studies, and our in-development trauma resolution method appears to be about as effective and efficient as the best around, while being simpler and easier to learn. As this is further researched, we are poised to grow and to disseminate our treatment widely. |
