Seniors Inpacting Community Needs

Volunteers help in addressing the community issues of education, health, environmental and human service needs. The RSVP Volunteer Program in Berkshire County provides recruitment, training and placement of persons 55 years of age and over as volunteers. The program enables volunteers to use their time and lifetime experience to meet new people, help others, be productive and creative, grow personally, explore new careers and make a difference through community service assignments.

How you help RSVP believes that adult citizens and the community benefit when the skill and experience of persons 55+ are utilized in a volunteer capacity.
About us RSVP is a national program funded by the federal government/AmeriCorps (The Corporation for National and Community Service) and has been sponsored in part by The City of Pittsfield since 1971. Americorps Seniors RSVP is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation for people 55 and over, and has matched older adults who are willing to help with local organizations on the front lines of meeting community needs. RSVP of Pittsfield, currently has approximately 250 active volunteers placed in 50 non-profit organizations throughout the county fulfilling unmet community needs.
