Ways to help

Medical or Legal Accompaniment

Interns/Volunteers trained as counselors willing to complete an additional unit of training can become certified as “Advocates”. Advocates provide support to Survivors and their loved ones at area hospitals following an assault while the Survivor is medically cleared and completes a forensic examination. Advocates may also be assigned to accompany a Survivor a local police station to complete a report on the assault or to Court if they choose to prosecute the perpetrator.

Administrative

There are also opportunities to gain administrative experience working on fundraising projects, information/referral resource development, and office management. As a small Non-Profit we are always in need of volunteers willing to answer the phones, put together packets of information for Survivors and those trying to assist them and help us to keep the office organized.

For interested individuals there are opportunities to gain community development experience working with the community, and particularly adolescents, to inform them of the availability of Agency services, raise awareness of the facts related to sexual assault in Central Massachusetts specifically as well as nationally, and to teach adolescents about healthy relationships and the warning signs of potential trouble ahead in their romantic relationships.
