Our mission

Our mission is to create a community where women have the relationships, safety, and resources they need to move out of homelessness. We engage with those most in need and support their initiative and strength as they move beyond crisis and discover new possibilities.
Opportunities

Service Days Volunteer

On The Rise invites groups and individuals to volunteer on the first Saturday of the month. Your efforts help preserve a dignified space for the women to enjoy each day. We will work on various projects in and around our beautiful home that may include: general grounds clean-up, garden work, sorting and organizing clothing, arts and crafts, preparation for special events, sorting toiletries, research and computer work, handy work, small cooking projects, and other “to do’s” that are needed as the seasons changes.

Cook a Lunch

For the women at On The Rise, a home-cooked and hearty meal enjoyed in a safe home is invaluable. We rely on the kind hearts and culinary talents of volunteers to cook a meal in their kitchen and deliver to ours. Don’t shy away from this opportunity even if you don’t consider yourself a cook; store bought and pre-made items are also welcome. As the women are as diverse as their palates, you choose what you would like to make; it is sure to be appreciated and enjoyed.

Moving Home Drives

You can coordinate a drive to collect basic household items for a woman as she moves into her new apartment. With your help, she can get settled a little more quickly and continue to work on the challenges that surround her.

Tangible Essentials Drive

How you help

On The Rise depends on more than 350 individuals, families, businesses, faith-based communities, schools and other groups who provide energy, time, talents and resources to create and maintain a caring environment for the women who come to On The Rise.
About us

On The Rise was founded on the idea that dependable relationships catalyze healing and transformation. We commit to relationships with chronically homeless women that are long-term and relevant to their entire life experience. Our programmatic model is effective at truly reaching and helping homeless women because it offers a long-term relational approach that focuses on the whole person. From the most tangible needs, to deep, meaningful change, On The Rise helps nearly 450 women each year.
