Ways to help | Long Term Care Ombudsman VolunteerOld Colony Planning Council is is need of Certified Long Term Care Ombudsman volunteers. This is a unique volunteer opportunity that requires a special person. Volunteers will need to be able to drive, visit weekly, complete training, have strong communication and organization skills. Ombudsman volunteers will help to ensure the rights and concerns of residents are being heard. Opportunity schedule is flexible.Meals on Wheels DriverThe nutrition service, Meals on Wheels, is provided in a variety of settings including congregate facilities such as senior centers; or by home-delivery to individuals who are home-bound due to illness, disability, or geographic isolation. OCES needs Meals on Wheels Drivers! Help put a smile on a senior's face. Deliver meals Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 11:00am. Flexible schedule.Senior Companion VolunteerVolunteer with senior residents on a one-to-one basis. Your conversation and interaction with individuals will stimulate their interests and reduce feelings of loneliness. Assist with a walk outside, read to someone, or play a game of cards. Volunteer anytime between 9am and 6pm on any day. Must be able to push a wheelchair.Money Management VolunteerHelp an older adult pay bills on time and develop a budget. Many people make a decision to eat, pay rent or pay a bill. Can you give a couple hours once a month to assist?Front Office AssistantResponsible for greeting visitors, assisting with office tasks, mailings, photocopying, preparing info packets. Looking for someone with good communication skills and flexible to handle multiple tasks. Various schedules available during business hours Monday through Friday.Drive Seniors to Medical AppointmentsHelp out seniors in your community that have no transportation. Drive seniors to their medical appointments. This opportunity is an on-call basis. We are looking for patient and compassionate volunteers to help with this great need in the community. |

OCES is a private, non-profit organization headquartered in Brockton and designated as one of 26 Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Through our programs we offer significant life-supporting care contributing to an individual’s ability to live within the community as independently as possible for as long as possible while preserving dignity and quality of life. OCES is the largest provider of these in-home and community-based services for older adults and people living with disabilities in the southeastern part of Massachusetts. |
