Our mission

Our mission is to promote community cooperation and unity and empower youth, individuals, and families. We do this by offering social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities.

Opportunities

Maintenance work

General indoor and outdoor maintenance work. Either as an individual or with a group organization, we’d love your help.

Work with children

We need volunteers to tutor children with homework and reading. We are also looking for volunteers to lead weekly hour-long workshops, such as martial arts, gardening, graphic design, or a gaming club! What are you good at? Let us know!

Board service and fundraising

We are always interested in recruiting active, community-minded individuals to serve on our board of directors. We meet monthly, with the exception of summer months, to set policy and strategic direction for the Center. If you have grant writing, event planning, or other fundraising expertise, we can use your help!

Large groups

We can accommodate large groups for big projects such as building maintenance, painting, landscaping, canvasing, and more. Please note that we normally ask large groups to make a small contribution ($100-200) to defray the cost of paint, cleaning supplies, etc.

Cambridge Winter Farmers Market and The Coast Kitchen Volunteer

CWFM, a program of the Cambridge Community Center, runs every Saturday from January to April and always needs some helping hands. The Coast Kitchen is a free monthly community meal program. It runs every third Friday of the month, and we can always use volunteers to help set up and clean up!

How you help

Volunteers help by tutoring children with homework and reading, preparing and serving free meals monthly, helping with maintenance, helping with large community projects, doing board work and fundraising.

Located between Central Square and Memorial Drive, the Cambridge Community Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been serving the Coast community in Cambridge for over 89 years. Today our mission is to promote community cooperation and unity and empower youth, individuals, and families. We do this by offering social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities.
