Development CommitteeThe Fundraising Committee is composed of LBFE staff, board members and community volunteers. Regular quarterly meetings are held in April, July, October and January. Project-based meetings are determined by the committee. Volunteers should expect more frequent meetings during the gala planning season June-Sept. The Fundraising Committee assists the LBFE Staff and Board of Directors in advocating for the organization and its mission, leverage corporate resources, and expanding opportunities for engagement with the organization.Board of DirectorsWe are seeking professionals who are interested in a unique volunteer opportunity that allows you to be impactful and contribute to an exciting growing organization in a strategic way. LBFE Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for up to two additional terms (for a maximum of three consecutive terms). Board meetings will be bi-monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. Currently meetings are virtual via Zoom.Communications CommitteeThe Communications Committee is composed of LBFE staff, board members and community volunteers and meets quarterly (February, May, August, November) along with project-based meetings as needed throughout the year. The Communications Committee crafts and directs awareness, marketing and advertising messages on behalf of the Board of Directors for LBFE Boston. It manages a schedule of campaigns that strategically aligns with and supports programs, events, fundraisers and giving seasons. |

About us | Our vision is to create inclusive communities that span generations and cultures to prevent and relieve isolation and loneliness. We collaborate with public and private senior housing buildings, senior centers, assisted living facilities and nursing homes as well as local colleges and universities to bring students and older adults together in friendship. Our core program, CitySites, brings older and younger participants together on a weekly basis for formal and informal programming to build mutually-beneficial relationships where everyone is welcome to teach, learn, give, receive, and enjoy life. |
