Mobile Food Bank Pantry

10-12 Volunteers needed twice a month to help with food distribution at our Mobile Food Bank Pantry. Days are 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. The distribution time is 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Volunteers arrive at 9:30 am and leave at 11:30 am. Location is St John’s, 60 Broad Street in Westfield. The mobile food pantry processes 200 families and reaches 400-600 individuals each event. This is a year round event so wear comfortable clothing. This is a fantastic opportunity to help people from all walks of life. For more information, please call Kelly McCarthy at 413-588-5596. Items we need

Money Management Volunteers needed

Our Money Management Program is looking for volunteers (preferably with a background in banking, bookkeeping & budgeting) to volunteer 1-2 hours a month! The volunteer will meet with an elder who needs assistance with paying their monthly bills, check writing (but not signing), checking bank statements and reading mail. The schedule is very flexible, training is provided! We are looking in the areas of Northampton, Amherst, Westfield, and Southwick. Please contact Scott Gullett, 413.582.9313 or email [email protected]

Ombudsman Volunteers needed

You can make a big difference by becoming an Ombudsman volunteer! Highland Valley Elder Services has opportunities available to become an advocate for residents in nursing homes. Ombudsman is a Swedish word meaning “carrier of the message.” What an Ombudsman does is provide a friendly face, a listening ear, and a voice for vulnerable adults who might otherwise go unheard. To learn about becoming a volunteer ombudsman, contact Michele Wolf, Ombudsman Program Director at Highland Valley Elder Services at 413-588-5755 or email at [email protected]
