Helping Hands Monkey Helpers
Ways to help | Animal Husbandry VolunteerVolunteers and interns are an integral part of Helping Hands, assisting with husbandry, diet, and enrichment care for our monkeys. Volunteers assist with the husbandry needs and diet preparation for our monkeys and do not have the opportunity to handle or train the monkeys.Development VolunteerInterns will gain skills and knowledge of the development field and non-profit management. They will work directly with the Director of Development and Communication and the Development and Communication Associate and will be instrumental in helping us reach our fundraising goals. This is a great opportunity to advance skills in a variety of work areas. |

About us | Established in 1979, Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers raises and trains capuchin monkeys to provide daily assistance to people living with spinal cord injury or other mobility impairments. Helping Hands supports each service monkey and his or her human partner during their many years together through interactive mentoring of the placement, and close supervision of the monkey’s behavioral, nutritional and veterinary needs. Relying on private contributions, Helping Hands provides these specially trained service animals and their lifetime support free of charge to our recipients. |
