Life Skills Workshop Teacher

Teach a Life Skills Workshop like budgeting, resume writing, interviewing, time management, goal setting, etc. to people transitioning to independence. You can also lead a group activity focused on wellness and fitness, recovery/therapy, arts and crafts, and other related topics. Yoga, meditation, creative writing, music appreciation, knitting are just a few examples.

Create Housewarming Baskets

Just fill a basket with some of the basic necessities we all need to make our house a home and don’t forget to include a welcome note. You can make as many baskets as you’d like! This is also a fun opportunity get a group of friends or colleagues together to have a Housewarming Party and make a huge difference in people’s lives.

Group Volunteer Opportunity

Sponsor & Serve a meal at Woods Mullen Shelter. The shelter loves the help and your presence means a lot to shelter guests. You can also host a Recreational Activity like BINGO on the night you serve. This is an especially nice activity when people are stuck inside during the winter months.

How you helpFriends of Boston’s Homeless provides direct and impactful ways individuals, corporations, foundations, groups, and charitable organizations can be an important part of ending homelessness in Boston.
About usFriends supports a number of vital programs in the City of Boston that help end homelessness including Housing First, Rapid Rehousing, Front Door Triage, Vocational Training and Workforce Development, and Transitional and Permanent Affordable Housing, and the emergency shelters, Woods Mullen Women’s and Southampton Men’s (formerly Long Island Shelter) run by Boston Public Health Commission. We also own and operate three Permanent Supportive Housing Programs in the community. Combined, these programs and services help hundreds of people each year move beyond shelter to lead stable, independent lives in our community.
