Ways to help

Foster Volunteer

Sonsini Animal Shelter is looking for foster families for kittens and puppies under two months old, mothers with nursing litters, dogs and cats with medical conditions or injuries, and special needs animals. The typical foster stay is two weeks to two months, depending on the needs of the individual animal(s) in your care. The Sonsini Shelter provides bedding and toys, as well as all medical care for the animals in foster homes, including vaccination, medications and spay/neuter surgery. Foster families are asked to provide exercise, socialization and lots of love!

Volunteer

We need people to walk, play and groom the dogs; groom and cuddle the cats; help with adoption clinics and special events; help with fundraising planning and events; and people that can help out weekend evenings are especially needed. Volunteers should be 18 years old. Those 16 and older can volunteer with written parental or guardian consent, and those under age 16 can volunteer but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How you help Volunteers are essential to the successful operation of any animal shelter. We are fortunate to have several caring men and women here at our shelter, but there is always room for more animal lovers to help out.
