Nature Explore Play FacilitatorEncourage our young guests and their families to build, dig, climb, create art and make music (Seasonal, 16 years +).Grounds AssistanceHelp maintain gardens. Adopt a Trail and help maintain our walking trains free of trash and debris (Seasonal, all 16 years +).CollectionsInventory historic natural history collection. Photograph, measure and take notes on birds, eggs, seashells or pressed flowers. Make rare specimens available online. Enter data to publish photographs for birds, eggs, seashells or pressed flowers. Interact with visitors within the Museum’s Curator’s Workshop, a unique. interpretive space which places visitors in the turn of the century naturalists office (all 16 years+).Special EventsVolunteer at one of our events, assist with activities & crafts (15+ years).Library VolunteerOur scientific collection has specimens from all periods in the museum’s history and includes botanical specimens, fossils, mammals, rocks and minerals, seashells, birds, and insects. Our library contains rare and antique volumes related to these fields of study. The library volunteer will document the author, title, and publication data of books in our historic collection in order to create a complete catalogue. Must complete basic orientation and Collections 101 training.Zoology DepartmentWork as a Keeper Aide volunteer to assist Animal Keepers to help provide for the health, safety, care and enrichment of our animal collection. Keeper Aide volunteers must be 18+. Keeper Aide volunteers must complete at least one, four hour shift per week. Previous animal care experience is preferred.ExhibitsInteract with guests, give assistance to our young visitors in our many interactive exhibits located throughout the museum (15 years +).Junior Counselor,Summer Discovery Camp, gain valuable teaching experience in the field of nature and science (seasonal 15 years+).Imagination Playground Play AssociateEncourage young guests in child-directed free play (16 years+). |

About us | The EcoTarium museum of science and nature in Worcester, Massachusetts offers an indoor-outdoor experience to visitors of all ages. Guests are encouraged to explore three floors of indoor interactive exhibits, live animal habitats, exciting shows in the digital planetarium, daily Science Discovery programs, hikes through forest and meadow nature trails, outdoor imaginative play, and a train ride around the 45+ acre campus (seasonal). Our exhibits make learning fun and are designed to engage a family audience. |
