High School Tutoring & Mentoring in Cambridge

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Join CSV at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) to support students in grades 9-12 as a tutor, mentor, or classroom collaborator. Just 30–90 minutes a week can change a student’s future.

  • Tutors: Work one-to-one with a student to help them build confidence and skills in a subject area—before school (8:00-8:30 a.m.), during the school day (8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.), or after school (3:15-4:15 p.m.).
  • College/Career Mentors: Guide juniors and seniors through college essay writing, SAT prep, scholarship application, and college/career planning. Sessions are held weekly on Wednesdays after school (3:15-4:15 p.m.).
  • Classroom Collaborators: Work alongside a teacher during one or more class periods, supporting small groups and individual students.

No teaching experience needed—just patience, encouragement, and a commitment to helping students feel seen, supported, and successful.

Elementary School Volunteers

Make a difference in the lives of Cambridge’s youngest learners! Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) offers opportunities to work directly with elementary students, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Opportunities include:
Reading Buddies: Be paired with a K–2 student and share the joy of reading through weekly 30-minute read-aloud sessions. Build a meaningful relationship while helping children develop early literacy skills.
Classroom Collaborators: Support students one-to-one or in small groups during the school day in reading, writing, or math (with opportunities in Art and Library too). Just an hour a week can make a lasting impact.
